Motion City BJJ is located at 550 County Rd D West Suite 2 in New Brighton, Minnesota. The academy provides Brazilian jiu-jitsu and fitness instruction for children, teens, and adults throughout New Brighton and surrounding communities. The school is owned and operated by husband-and-wife instructors Aidan and Michelle Donovan. Coach Aidan began training Brazilian jiu-jitsu in 2008 and focuses on conceptual instruction for beginner students. Coach Michelle is a female black belt instructor who began training in 2010 and earned a medal at the Pans championship in 2018. Programs include Kids BJJ for ages 5 to 12, Adult BJJ for ages 13 and older, and Women’s Only BJJ for ages 12 and older. The adult curriculum is structured into Fundamentals and Advanced classes utilizing a constraint-led approach, with gi and no-gi training sessions offered from Monday through Saturday.
