10th Planet Oakland Jiu Jitsu is situated at 930 Alice Street in Oakland, California. Operating as an official affiliate of the global 10th Planet submission grappling system, the academy focuses exclusively on no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training for youth and adults. Instruction features seasoned competitor and trainer Michael Hillebrand alongside certified grappling coaches. The adult program delivers structured training in modern submission grappling, wrestling transitions, and no-gi judo throws, trips, and off-balancing tactics. Practitioners learn rubber guard mechanics, leg lock entries, positional control, and technical escapes without reliance on a traditional gi. Classes incorporate step-by-step technique demonstrations, situational drilling, and live submission sparring. Youth classes admit children starting at age four, divided into age-appropriate Littles and Kids divisions spanning up to age thirteen.
