Aikido of San Leandro

Aikido of San Leandro operates at 1033 MacArthur Boulevard in San Leandro, California. The dojo occupies a martial arts facility that previously hosted judo, kajukenbo, and taekwondo practitioners dating back to the 1950s. Patricia Hendricks Shihan took over the lease in June of 1984, establishing the space as a dedicated aikido training center. Patricia Hendricks holds a seventh-dan rank in aikido and the title of Shihan, carrying forward the teachings of Iwama master Morihiro Saito Shihan within the lineage of aikido founder Morihei Ueshiba. She has conducted seminars internationally and directs training programs at the San Leandro facility. The training schedule includes open-hand aikido practice for adults and children, alongside dedicated traditional weapons seminars concentrating on wooden sword and staff. The school also maintains an uchi-deshi live-in student program and administers testing for kyu and dan ranks under CAA standards.
