American Jiu Jitsu is located at 412 Lake Ave in St. James, NY 11780. The school teaches scenario-based self-defense for street situations, including responses to grabs and weapons and instruction connected to law-enforcement tactics. Classes are divided into age groups for children ages 4 to 6, 7 to 9, and 10 to 13, as well as teens and adults. The schedule identifies beginner training for white through orange belts, advanced training for green through black belts, and an invitation-only black belt class. Private lessons are available daily, including Fridays. Posted facility hours are Monday through Friday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday from 9:00 AM to noon, with the school closed on Sunday. New students can schedule a first class free.
