Arroyo Grappling Academy operates at 1604 Sycamore St, Suite B, located inside the Sycamore Mall in Iowa City, Iowa. The martial arts academy provides Brazilian jiu-jitsu coaching, technical ground grappling, and functional self-defense education for youth and adult practitioners throughout Iowa City. Instruction at the facility is directed by head coach Daniel Arroyo, widely known to students as Coach Danny. Coach Arroyo has trained across the country alongside accomplished martial artists including first-degree black belt Elias Cepeda and multi-time world champion Robert Drysdale. The coaching staff guides classes through core leverage principles, defensive posture, guard passing, and submission holds.
