White Rhino MMA & BJJ operates inside The HUB Bldg at 312 S Main St, Suite D in Lexington, Virginia. The academy was opened in November 2021 to bring martial arts and combat sports training to the local community. The school was founded by Phil Dunlap, who serves as Founder & Head Coach of White Rhino MMA & BJJ and The Asylum Fight Team. Dunlap is a 2nd Degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Ricardo Cavalcanti within the Carlson Gracie lineage. He brings over three decades of combat sports experience across mixed martial arts, submission grappling, and striking. In November 2025, the gym brought in Coach Jeff to support expanded daily operations. Training programs provide structured instruction across multiple disciplines for competitors and fitness enthusiasts alike. Offerings include mixed martial arts, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, and striking sessions. Classes emphasize proper technique, steady progress, and mutual respect on and off the mats in a safe learning environment.
