Bayshore Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Bayshore Brazilian Jiu Jitsu provides submission grappling and self-defense training at 1444 Route 36 in Hazlet, New Jersey. Founded in 2019, the academy delivers structured martial arts education for youth, adult, and family practitioners in the local Hazlet community. The academy is directed by head professor Joe Dockery, a first-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Master Renzo Gracie. A Hazlet native and graduate of The College of New Jersey, Dockery has trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 2007, earned his black belt in August 2018, and secured six gold medals across NOGI Masters Worlds and Pan American tournaments. The instructional team also features coach Mike Oettinger and women's coach Katya Leontyeva. Class offerings include adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, no-gi submission grappling, Muay Thai striking, and women's self-defense seminars. Youth instruction begins with Lion Cubs for children ages 3 to 5, transitioning into kids jiu-jitsu classes for ages 5 and older. Family training sessions are also scheduled weekly.
