Bodega Jiu Jitsu is a dedicated grappling academy located at 6 West Parker Avenue in Maplewood, New Jersey. The academy serves practitioners across South Orange, Maplewood, and neighboring communities, specializing exclusively in modern no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Founded in late 2022 by martial artists Kyvann Gonzalez and Chas Makk, the school emphasizes a technical and scalable approach to combat sports. Coach Chas began martial arts training at age six in Taekwondo before transitioning to submission grappling. The coaching team structures classes around live adaptive scenarios where students apply technical mechanics in controlled sparring rounds.
