Buffalo Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy is located at 22 French Lea Road in Buffalo, New York. Established in 2005, the academy holds the distinction of being the first Brazilian jiu-jitsu academy founded in the city of Buffalo. Instruction is led by head instructor Professor Chuck Anzalone, recognized as the highest-ranking Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt in Buffalo and the first American black belt under Ricardo De La Riva. The coaching staff focuses on positional dominance, technical guard play, joint submissions, and controlled sparring to build functional grappling skills. The academy provides training across multiple combat disciplines, featuring Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for self-defense and sport grappling in both gi and no-gi formats. Youth martial arts education is delivered through Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, complemented by striking classes in Muay Thai that develop clinch work and eight-limbs striking.
