Carll Clan Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Carll Clan Brazilian Jiu Jitsu provides ground grappling and self-defense training at 17 Main Street in Gray, Maine. Founded and operated by the Carll family, the academy brings martial arts instruction to practitioners across the surrounding community. The school is co-owned by Professor Shawn Carll, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt with over 20 years of experience under second-degree black belt Travis Wells, and Professor Nick Carll, a black belt with over 15 years of experience who received his rank from coral belt Professor Alexey Cruz. Coaching staff also includes takedown and wrestling coach John Lough, bringing more than 20 years of mat background, alongside assistant instructors Adam Langelier, Ashley Buckingham, and Jay Day. Coursework encompasses adult gi jiu-jitsu, fundamentals classes, competition training, no-gi submission grappling, and Friday open mat sessions. Youth classes accommodate students ages 6 and older, focusing on basic submissions, body positioning, and mat discipline.
