Carlson Gracie Omaha / Coyote BJJ Team operates at 4458 S. 84th St in Omaha, Nebraska. Affiliated with the Carlson Gracie Team, the academy provides Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instruction for teens and adults seeking self-defense proficiency, personal growth, and tournament preparation. Instruction is headed by Professor Josh Santarpia, who earned his black belt in 2021 under Professor Daniel "Coyote" Souza and opened the Omaha academy in 2022. Professor Santarpia holds a doctorate from Texas A&M University and works as a professor of microbiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Head Professor Daniel Souza, a sixth-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and fifth-dan black belt in Judo, guides the affiliate curriculum. Training is intentionally structured with smaller group sizes to facilitate individual technical attention. The academy provides Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for Teens & Adults, focusing on positional hierarchy, guard transitions, sweeps, escapes, and controlled sparring rounds.
