Carlson Gracie South Lakeland is a martial arts academy operating at 5285 S Florida Ave in Lakeland, Florida. Representing the Carlson Gracie and Ricardo De La Riva lineage, the school delivers focused instruction in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and athletic conditioning for local practitioners. The academy is led by owner and head instructor Rafa Santos, a 4th-degree black belt who has trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 1998. Having earned his rank under Beto Nunes and Ricardo De La Riva, Professor Santos teaches the Carlson Gracie style of heavy pressure passing from the top and a versatile bottom game with submissions and sweeps. Training programs accommodate both beginner practitioners and active tournament competitors across adult and youth divisions. In addition to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu mat time, the academy offers youth martial arts classes, after-school care options, and the Lakeland Bootcamp cross-training program designed to develop functional conditioning and strength.
