Combat Concepts Academy

Combat Concepts Academy delivers martial arts and self-defense instruction at 950 E. Kiehl Ave in Sherwood, Arkansas. Operating as the only Rafael Lovato Jr. Jiu-Jitsu affiliate in Arkansas, the academy also serves as the area's chartered United States Judo Association club. The training environment emphasizes systematic progression, technical safety, mutual respect, and practical skill development with no hidden fees and no charges for testing or promotions. Instruction is directed by Lead Instructor Garret Andrews, who holds black belts in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo, is a certified Rafael Lovato Jr. curriculum instructor, and is a certified United States Judo Association coach. The coaching roster also features Judo black belt and BJJ brown belt Krystal Andrews, alongside competitive judo and grappling coaches including Asia Brashear, James Short, Ian Cooper, and wrestling coach Andrew Healy. Programs accommodate students of all experience levels across Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, No-Gi grappling, and striking disciplines. Offerings include dedicated adult martial arts, youth training divisions, and wrestling classes, with new students encouraged to explore all offerings through a one-week free trial program.
