Commonwealth Jiu Jitsu provides combat sports training and submission grappling instruction at 31629 Plymouth Rd in Livonia, Michigan. The academy operates Monday through Saturday, serving martial arts practitioners and families from Livonia, Plymouth, Canton, Westland, Redford, and Farmington. The school was co-founded by black belts Daniel Leith and Andrew Slackta, both of whom earned IBJJF gold medals and won the 2023 NoGi World Championship at brown belt. Leith is a Marine Corps combat veteran and Bronze Star recipient. Head Muay Thai coach Jason Fischer is a 2nd degree black belt, professional boxer, and Bellator MMA veteran, while judo classes are headed by Sensei Garcia, a judo black belt and former competitor on the Colombian national judo team. The 6,000-square-foot facility features two separate mat spaces, a stocked weight training room, and private shower amenities. Programs include Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Judo, and kids classes, conducted without long-term contracts, hidden fees, or uniform mandates.
