Defensive Edge Martial Arts Academy

Defensive Edge Martial Arts Academy is a combat sports training facility located in Wakefield, Massachusetts, serving the North Shore community since 1999. The facility is owned and directed by head coach Josh Johnson, supported by general manager Jake Stats, youth instructor Mikey Titus, Muay Thai head coach Dave Lyons, and boxing head coach Brandon Montella. The academy provides training across multiple combat disciplines, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, mixed martial arts, Muay Thai kickboxing, and boxing. Adult offerings also feature Reality Self Defense tactical courses and FightFIT strength and conditioning sessions. Youth training is divided by developmental stages, providing the Golden Eagles program for children ages 4 to 6 and the Teen Samurai curriculum for ages 7 to 13. Defensive Edge Martial Arts Academy conducts weekday and weekend classes structured for both recreational students and active competitors. The academy offers a two-week trial period for prospective members to test classes prior to formal enrollment.
