Denver Judo

Denver Judo is located at 719 Mariposa St in Denver, Colorado. As an official member club of USA Judo, the martial arts facility provides traditional grappling instruction across judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and sumo for students ages 5 through adulthood. The school is led by Scott and Heidi Moore, both 6th degree black belts (Rokudan), former competitive judoka, and USA Judo A-level coaches. The teaching staff includes experienced judoka holding high Dan ranks, such as Keith Lewis (Godan), James Carmer (Rokudan), Jessica Lockfeld (Godan), Alyssa Gilkey Zawack (Sandan), Kedge Zawack (Sandan), and Matthew Gilmartin (Nidan). Instructors guide students through foundational throwing techniques, hold-downs, and ground submissions. Classes are structured for both recreational participants and competitive athletes, including youth divisions, adult fundamentals, and advanced randori sparring. The dojo provides loaner judogi uniforms for beginners trying their first sessions on the mats.
