Downriver Jiu-Jitsu & Fitness operates at 16120 King Rd in Riverview, Michigan. The martial arts training center delivers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coaching, submission grappling instruction, and athletic conditioning for children, teenagers, and adult practitioners across the Downriver area of Metro Detroit. The school was founded by head instructor Professor Brent Insco, the first and highest-ranking Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt in the Downriver region. Professor Insco earned his black belt directly from world champions Saulo Ribeiro and Alexandre "Xande" Ribeiro and holds a black belt in NAAMA, bringing decades of martial arts and competitive experience. The instructional staff also includes Professor Scott Chin, who earned his black belt rank under Insco. Academy coursework is held six days a week across multiple training divisions. Program offerings encompass adult gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, no-gi submission grappling, youth jiu-jitsu, and competition preparation. Classes blend systematic technique demonstrations, structured drilling series, and supervised live rolling to cultivate body mechanics, mental focus, and practical grappling capability.
