Element Academy of Jiu-Jitsu

Element Academy of Jiu-Jitsu is located at 434 Newtown Rd. in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The academy delivers martial arts training across Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai Kickboxing, catering to beginners wanting physical conditioning as well as competitive athletes. Instruction is directed by UFC veteran Mackens Semerzier, a lifelong martial artist from Florida who earned his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt in 2013 after seven years of dedicated training. Semerzier was world-ranked in the featherweight division and achieved multiple fight bonus awards in WEC and UFC competition before focusing on teaching. The curriculum features gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu across all major positions, concluding sessions with situational training and optional open rolling. Youth students begin in the Youth Fundamental Jiu-Jitsu Program with online rank tracking, and new students can access a free first week of training.
