Faction Combat Gym | Krav Maga - MMA - BJJ - Muay Thai is located at 1529 S Clearview Ave in Mesa, Arizona. The multi-discipline training center provides instruction across ground combat, striking, mixed martial arts, and street self-defense for youth and adult practitioners. The Brazilian jiu-jitsu program, Sharkside Jiu-Jitsu, is led by head instructor Brenden Richardson. Richardson earned a black belt under Gustavo Dantas with Nova Uniao and placed third at the 2011 IBJJF World Championships in the adult division. He incorporates both sport competition tactics and street-applicable self-defense techniques shaped by years of service in law enforcement. Striking and combatives programs are led by head instructor Steve DeArmond, a black belt in Krav Maga and certified instructor in Martial Blade Concepts, and coach Gabe Guerrero, a tournament champion in Muay Thai. Class offerings include Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Combatives, MMA, Muay Thai, Women's Kickboxing, and MMA Minis for ages 3 to 5.
