Gorilla BJJ Academy

Gorilla BJJ Academy operates at 31 Industrial Avenue in Mahwah, NJ. Situated in Bergen County, the academy is owned and directed by head instructor Professor Mike Wilson, a third-degree black belt who has trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for over eighteen years and earned his black belt under Jared Weiner of Tac Team and BJJ United. The academy provides structured martial arts instruction across grappling and striking disciplines. Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu programming features fundamental gi classes focusing on leverage, positioning, escapes, and core submissions, alongside advanced gi sessions exploring intricate concepts and live rolling. Practitioners can also participate in submission grappling and no-gi jiu-jitsu, as well as Muay Thai kickboxing for students ages sixteen and older. Youth offerings are organized into Kid's Jiu-Jitsu for ages six through twelve and Teen's Jiu-Jitsu for ages thirteen through seventeen. Instruction maintains a strong emphasis on real-world self-defense, technical refinement, and mutual encouragement.
