Gracie Barra Aloha Stadium

Gracie Barra Aloha Stadium operates at 4510 Salt Lake Blvd in Honolulu, Hawaii. Established in June 2024 as an affiliated branch of the international Gracie Barra organization, the school provides structured Brazilian jiu-jitsu training to practitioners across Oahu. Instruction is spearheaded by Professor Justin James, a black belt promoted in 2022 under Professor Leandro Serafim following extensive training in mixed martial arts and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. The coaching roster also includes brown belt coach John Lapastora, who began his grappling journey in 1998 at West Oahu Martial Arts Academy, alongside purple belt coaches Monte Lloyd and Chuck Stevens. Coaches maintain Gracie Barra Instructor Certifications and guide practitioners through systematic technique drilling, positional control, and controlled live sparring. The academy provides organized curriculum tracks tailored to diverse age brackets and experience levels. Program offerings feature the Gracie Barra Kids GBK Program for youth, the GB1 Fundamentals Program for adult beginners, the GB2 Advanced Program with no-gi sessions, the GB3 Expert Program for blue belts and above, and the GBF Program focused on jiu-jitsu for women.
