GRACIE BARRA NORTH SALT LAKE - BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU & SELF-DEFENSE is situated at 76 S Orchard Dr in North Salt Lake, Utah. As an official training center of the global Gracie Barra network, the academy delivers structured martial arts education to students across North Salt Lake and surrounding cities. The academy was founded by Professor Mark Fonte, who began training under Master Nelson Monteiro and Professor Rafael Ramos in 2010 before opening the Utah facility. All Brazilian jiu-jitsu coaches are certified through the Gracie Barra Instructor Certification Program and renew credentials yearly. Instructors emphasize situational awareness, positional escapes, leverage distribution, and safe partner drilling. The school organizes classes into age-appropriate and skill-tailored tracks. Instructional programs feature Jiu-Jitsu for Kids for ages 3 and older, Jiu-Jitsu for Adults, focused Jiu-Jitsu for Women classes, and individualized private jiu-jitsu lessons designed to accelerate technical comprehension.
