Greensboro Martial Arts Academy

Greensboro Martial Arts Academy, home to the Cloud Forest Martial Arts Institute, operates at 719 W Gate City Blvd inside the Gate City Business Center in Greensboro, North Carolina. The school has taught traditional Chinese martial arts in Greensboro since 1969. The academy curriculum features Wei Family Kung Fu, combat jujitsu, Tai Chi, Xing Yi, and youth martial arts programs. The school is directed by Sifu Michael Johnson, the 38th generation chief inheritor of Wei Family Kung Fu and third president of the academy. Holding the rank of 8th Duan, Johnson brings more than 35 years of martial arts experience. The instructional staff includes Sifu Casey Martin, who runs Chinese boxing and kids jujitsu, alongside Sifu Chris Lyle, who instructs Praying Mantis and Iron Palm techniques. Training takes place in a dedicated facility equipped with padded mats, heavy bags, a wooden dummy, and traditional weapons. Youth classes meet during the early evening, while adult training sessions begin at 6:30 PM.
