Groundswell MMA is located at 8420 Gas House Pike Suite ZZ in Frederick, Maryland. Originally founded in 2013 as The Fort MMA and rebranded in 2022, the training center provides instruction across mixed martial arts, striking, and grappling for students across Frederick and nearby areas. The school is owned and directed by head instructor Zach Davis, a professional combat sports veteran and former competitor on Season 13 of The Ultimate Fighter. Davis leads curriculum development and technical instruction on the mats, supported by director of operations Courtney Davis, a certified executive life and leadership coach. The coaching staff focuses on structured skill development, physical conditioning, and personal discipline in a collaborative training atmosphere. Programs include adult mixed martial arts, teen classes, youth development programs, and martial arts sessions designed for adults with developmental disabilities. Students practice stand-up striking, clinch techniques, and ground control using required protective equipment. Interested participants can sign up for a complimentary trial class directly through the Groundswell MMA website.
