GT Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy

GT Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy provides martial arts education and submission grappling training at 51 Southeast Ave in Tallmadge, Ohio. Originally established in 2014 as the Dudu Barros Jiu-Jitsu Academy, the school relocated to its current Tallmadge facility in 2023, serving children, teens, and adults across Tallmadge and neighboring Ohio communities. The academy is owned and directed by head instructors Todd Meighen and Gregory Hammerton, both third-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belts who earned their ranks under Nova Uniao master Eduardo "Dudu" Barros in May 2013. Meighen previously served twelve years in law enforcement as a defensive tactics instructor and task force officer, while Hammerton brings over two decades of grappling and martial arts teaching experience. Course offerings encompass adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fundamentals and all-levels classes, kids jiu-jitsu, the Female Strong women's martial arts program, Chinese Shuai Chiao wrestling, and tactical grappling instruction affiliated with Adopt A Cop BJJ.
