Hamel Jiu Jitsu Club

Hamel Jiu Jitsu Club operates at 770 Tower Dr in Medina, Minnesota, serving the surrounding Hamel community. Affiliated with M-Theory Martial Arts under Professor Ishmael Bentley, the training center provides Brazilian jiu-jitsu coaching and practical self-defense education for children and adults. Instruction is directed by head coach Drake Roth, a black belt who has pursued jiu-jitsu since high school, alongside coach and owner Darrin Homme, a brown belt who has wrestled since third grade. The instructional staff also features manager Matt Brouse and youth coaches Nah-Tieh Bropleh and Jake Goldschmidt. The teaching team leads classes through fundamental body positioning, guard passing, defensive framing, and controlled submissions, emphasizing technical leverage and safety over sheer force. The club organizes its schedule into distinct developmental tracks. Program offerings encompass adult gi fundamentals, no-gi grappling sessions, and youth classes designed to cultivate confidence and technical coordination.
