Hosford Jiu-Jitsu Academy

Hosford Jiu-Jitsu Academy is located at 8630 Asheville hwy in Knoxville, Tn 37924, situated off exit 394 on I-40 near Stormer’s Hardware. The academy operates as a direct affiliate to the Pedro Sauer Jiu-Jitsu association and Jeff Curran’s association. The school is led by John Hosford, who serves as Head Instructor | co-owner and holds a 4th-degree black belt under Pedro Sauer. Gabe Hosford serves as Lead Instructor | co-owner holding a first-degree black belt rank. John Hosford opened his first Jiu-Jitsu academy in 2001, and the father-son duo established their academy together in 2021 before moving to the present location in 2023. Course offerings include Kids Jiu-Jitsu (ages 8-15), Adult Jiu-Jitsu (ages 16+), and Wrestling (ages 10+). Adult students can attend Fundamental Jiu-Jitsu classes on Mondays and Wednesdays or join Open Rank classes. The weekly schedule features training Monday through Saturday with Sunday closed, alongside Saturday morning and afternoon open mat sessions.
