Ignite Jiu Jitsu and MMA Academy

Ignite Jiu Jitsu and MMA Academy provides combat sports and martial arts conditioning at 7275 North Oak Trafficway in Gladstone, Missouri. The facility delivers structured technical training in submission grappling, stand-up striking, and mixed martial arts for practitioners across the Kansas City metropolitan area. The instructional staff is led by owner and head instructor Zak Cummings, a former UFC middleweight competitor and second-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Leonardo Pecanha who compiled a 26-7 fight record. The coaching team also includes Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belts Josh Baker, who has trained in mixed martial arts and jiu-jitsu for over 10 years, and Alex McGowan, alongside instructor Brian Harris. Curriculum options include fundamental and evening gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, mixed martial arts striking and cage work, and Ignition FitBoxing fitness classes. Youth instruction is delivered through a kids martial arts program combining mixed martial arts and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, featuring separate age-group classes for ages 4 to 7, 8 to 10, and 11 to 14.
