Island Jiu Jitsu, LLC provides martial arts instruction and submission grappling education at 760 Halekauwila Street in the Kakaʻako neighborhood of Honolulu, Hawaii. Established in 2010 as a grassroots training group, the academy opened its commercial training facility in 2015, delivering Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training for children, teenagers, and adults across Honolulu. The academy was founded by head coach Jason Vigil, a third-degree black belt who began coaching in 2004 and received his black belt rank in 2013 from Jason Izaguirre of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Kailua. Vigil directs a technical curriculum emphasizing practical self-defense principles, leverage-based control, positional advancement, and modern sport grappling mechanics. Course offerings encompass adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in both gi and no-gi formats, competition team training, monthly women's self-defense clinics held on the final Friday of each month, and a youth curriculum serving keiki and teens ages 3 and older, with classes scheduled seven days a week.
