JTR Jujutsu International

JTR Jujutsu International operates at 4429 Wisconsin Ave NW in Washington, District of Columbia. The martial arts academy provides Japanese jujutsu and practical personal protection training to youth and adult practitioners across the capital area. Instruction is headed by Danladi Whitten, known to students as Master Don, who assumed the role of head instructor in 2015 following the passing of founder Grandmaster Dong Jin Kim. Master Don holds a doctorate in physical therapy and guides classes with an emphasis on biomechanics, joint manipulation, body control, and traditional Japanese martial principles. Training prioritizes technical leverage, safe partner drilling, and mental focus. The dojo organizes curriculum tracks for students of all ages. Program offerings include the Combat Jujutsu Program, Women's Self-Defense Program, JTR Kids Program, and Little Samurai Program for ages 4 to 5. Training sessions combine positional repetition, practical defensive awareness, and physical conditioning to develop athletic coordination, situational confidence, and martial discipline.
