The Marcelo Garcia Jiu Jitsu Association operates at 220 NW 8th Ave, Suite 40 in Gainesville, Florida. The school provides Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training for students and residents in the Gainesville community. The academy is led by instructor Kon Ying, who began studying Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2000 at the Renzo Gracie academy in New York City. He earned his blue belt in 2001 and later trained directly under multiple-time champion Marcelo Garcia in NYC. The academy has developed into a training home for 20 BJJ Black Belts. The school offers structured Adult Programs and a dedicated Kid's Program. Curriculum options include Adult Advanced Classes alongside private instruction with Purple Belt, Brown Belt, and Black Belt instructors. Training sessions focus on systematic submissions, guard transitions, and position control on the mats.
