Located at 800 Woodside Road in Redwood City, California, Minc Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (MBJJ) was founded in 2021 by head coach Professor Pedro Minc. The academy operates as an official Team Nova União affiliate in Silicon Valley. Professor Minc trained under Master André "Dedé" Pederneiras in Rio de Janeiro and holds competitive titles including eight IBJJF American National championships and three CBJJO World championships. The academy structures Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training for adults across fundamentals, advanced sessions, and women-only classes. Beginner classes focus on positional drills, escapes, and core self-defense principles, while advanced classes for blue belts and above emphasize situational sparring and competition strategies in both gi and no-gi formats. Youth development begins with Little Samurais classes for ages three to five, progressing into Samurai Kids for ages 6 to 12 and Warriors classes for teens ages 13 to 16. In addition to youth and adult BJJ instruction, the gym offers cardio combat and Krav Maga conditioning sessions, supported by on-site private parking.
