Memento Combat Sports

Memento Combat Sports is a grappling and combat sports academy located at 2519 Topside Road in Louisville, Tennessee, serving practitioners throughout the Knoxville area. The academy is owned and directed by head instructors Joseph Watson, a 1st Degree Black Belt, and Daniel McCarthy, a 3rd Degree Black Belt. Instruction encompasses Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, Judo taught by 6th Degree Black Belt Sensei Mike Takata, and mixed martial arts striking. Programs are divided between traditional gi training and no-gi submission grappling, with specialized classes including youth BJJ, adult fundamentals, and a dedicated BJJ for law enforcement program led by Cody Hudson. The gym emphasizes technical fundamentals, injury prevention, and collaborative team culture for students of all experience levels. Grapplers across Louisville and neighboring communities can visit the Topside Road facility to participate in open mats and scheduled classes.
