Metro Jiu-Jitsu

Metro Jiu-Jitsu operates a 7,000-square-foot martial arts and combat training center at 13555 Eureka Rd in Southgate, Michigan. Serving practitioners across Southgate and Downriver, the academy delivers combat sports instruction for children, teens, and adults. The academy was founded by head coach David Fox, who has trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 2009 and earned his black belt under Danny Alvarez. Wrestling instruction is led by head wrestling coaches Jimmy Siwula, an accomplished competitor holding multiple World and Pan-American Championship podium finishes, and Joe Breza, a former Division 1 wrestler at Sacred Heart University. Striking is directed by head kickboxing coach Tony Rowe. Coursework encompasses adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling takedowns, and boxing and kickboxing. Youth training is divided by age group, including Little Lions Jiu-Jitsu for ages 5 to 7 and kids jiu-jitsu for ages 8 to 12. Families can evaluate the academy by scheduling an introductory free class.
