Michigan Grappling Co. delivers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, kickboxing, and mixed martial arts instruction at 13672 Fort Street in Southgate, Michigan. Established in 2024, the Downriver training center provides an authentic grappling facility equipped with dedicated conditioning space, modern mats, and technical mentorship tailored to students of every background, age, and belt rank. The academy's instructional staff is directed by head instructor Christopher Fisher, an IBJJF Master Worlds Champion and multiple-time IBJJF Open champion who earned his black belt in 2023 within the Cascao Vital lineage under Royler Gracie. Instruction is supported by veteran black belt instructor Gene, who began his martial arts journey in 1976 and holds a BJJ black belt under Royce Gracie alongside an Isshin-Ryu Karate black belt, alongside dedicated youth and women's program coaches. Coursework features adult Gi Jiu Jitsu and No-Gi Jiu Jitsu, wrestling and clinch work, striking, and mixed martial arts. Youth athletes develop grappling proficiency through structured kids Gi and No-Gi programs. New practitioners can evaluate the gym through a complimentary first-class free trial.
