Neutral Ground Academy

Neutral Ground Academy provides martial arts education and submission grappling training at 932 E Pleasant St in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Established in 2005, the academy operates across Eastside and Bayview locations, serving youth, teen, and adult practitioners throughout the greater Milwaukee area. Instruction is directed by owner and head Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor Jon Friedland. The academy features an instructional staff including BJJ instructors Tim Murphy, Lily Beyer, Adam Messing, Andy Simmons, Dustin Krueger, and Matthew Rutter. The coaching roster also includes women's jiu-jitsu instructor Dez Marszalkowski, no-gi coach Ryan Meyer, military veterans instructor Joe Flores, and multi-discipline coach Grant Oberfoell, who oversees wrestling, BJJ, and kickboxing. Coursework encompasses adult gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, kickboxing, yoga, self-defense, and kids jiu-jitsu for ages 4 to 12. Training focuses on leverage-based ground control, positional dominance, and technical escapes, supported by complimentary introductory trial classes by appointment.
