Nishime Martial Arts operates at 7012 Harrison Ave in Cincinnati, Ohio, providing traditional martial arts and combat sports training. Established by the Nishime family, the facility delivers instructional programs in adult karate, adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, kids karate, kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and weapons training. Founder and head karate instructor Shihan Kiyoshi Nishime brings over 50 years of martial arts experience, having moved from Okinawa to Cincinnati in 1973. He holds the rank of 9th Degree Black Belt and was named National Instructor of the Year in 1999 by the AAU. Head Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor Jason Nishime, who earned his black belt in 2022 from Shawn Hammonds, holds black belts in Shorin-Ryu karate and Yamanni-Ryu kobudo. Training focuses on practical self-defense applications, kicking and punching mechanics, ground grappling control, and traditional weapons forms. Classes are structured to develop physical fitness and discipline for children, teens, and adults. New practitioners can contact the Cincinnati academy to schedule a free trial class.
