North Shore Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy

North Shore Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy provides structured martial arts education and technical ground fighting instruction at 10 Colonial Rd #18 in Salem, Massachusetts. The school has served students and families across the North Shore of Massachusetts—including Salem, Marblehead, and Swampscott—for over 20 years. Training focuses on long-term personal development, movement-based learning, discipline, and mutual respect. The academy is owned and directed by head instructor Danny Morera, a 4th degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Master Roberto Maia of Boston Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, who brings over three decades of martial arts teaching experience as the area's highest-ranked black belt. The leadership team also features academy owner, instructor, and Academy Director Angela Morera, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt who oversees daily operations and student communications. Coursework includes adult training alongside comprehensive kids programs for children ages 4 to 14, highlighted by the Youth Leadership Jiu-Jitsu division for ages 10 to 14. Prospective adult students and families begin their training through a scheduled introductory trial, ensuring appropriate placement according to age and experience.
