North Sound Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

North Sound Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu provides grappling and self-defense education at 9015 Vernon Road in Lake Stevens, WA, serving practitioners throughout Snohomish County. The academy delivers structured instruction in ground fighting, takedowns, and leverage-based defense for students of all experience levels. The instructional staff is headed by academy owner Michael Simpson, a fourth-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. Judo instruction is directed by head judo instructor Oscar Gonzalez, a second-degree judo black belt and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, with additional classes led by instructor Caleb Hathaway, a second-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. Training emphasizes controlling resisting training partners through positional leverage, grips, and technical submission mechanics. Course offerings include adult gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, adult no-gi grappling, no-gi sparring, family judo, and combined Krav Maga and no-gi jiu-jitsu classes.
