Northwest Fighting Arts

Northwest Fighting Arts operates a martial arts and combat sports academy at 1200 SE Morrison Street in Portland, Oregon. Founded by Marine Corps veteran Jeff Patterson, who has practiced and taught martial arts for more than twenty-nine years, the facility delivers structured training across grappling, striking, and weaponry systems. Founder Jeff Patterson holds extensive experience across multiple combat disciplines, including studying Muay Thai under pioneer Ajarn Chai Sirisute alongside Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Western Boxing, Jeet Kune Do, Filipino Eskrima, and internal arts such as Tai Chi and Qigong. Instructional programs are organized into step-by-step progressions suitable for beginner hobbyists through experienced martial artists. Training options include Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ground fighting, Muay Thai stand-up striking, mixed martial arts integration, boxing fundamentals, and weapon-based Filipino martial arts. The academy also provides youth martial arts programs and scheduled classes throughout the training week.
