Nova Ryu BJJ is situated at 3912 E Portland Ave in Tacoma, WA 98404. New students can contact the academy for free trial details and registration info, with memberships operating with no contracts and unlimited training for /month. The school was founded by head coach Jestyn Cummings, who holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a USJA shodan black belt in judo. Coach Jestyn began martial arts training in Shotokan, American Kempo, and Judo before beginning formal Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training in 2001 with Rodrigo Lopes. Instruction runs 7 days a week with morning and evening sessions available in gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The timetable provides programs for ages 4-6 years, ages 7-14 years, and adult classes. Offerings include Ninja Cubs, Kids BJJ, Adult gi, Nogi, Boxing classes, Yoga classes, Women's BJJ, and Open mat sessions.
