One Forty Four MMA

One Forty Four MMA operates at 2738 W Old US Highway 441 in Mount Dora, FL 32757. Founded in 2021 in Umatilla, the academy expanded into Mount Dora in 2022 to provide martial arts instruction. The gym is owned and directed by lead instructor Corey Wingo, a retired SWAT operator from the Lake County Sheriff's Office. He operates the academy alongside co-owner and manager Vanessa Wingo, a Jiu-Jitsu brown belt who coaches kids and women. Instruction is supported by BJJ Professor Dillon Gower and no-gi instructor Jordan Pederson, an honorable U.S. Navy veteran. Programs feature adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, striking, and mixed martial arts training. Youth options include structured kids martial arts classes assisted by coach Ian Jass. The academy's name is inspired by Psalm 144.
