Payback Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy

Payback Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy operates at 583 W 10th Street in Pittsburg, California. On July 20, 2026, the academy received an official proclamation at the Pittsburg City Council meeting, recognizing its work with local youth and community contributions as the first jiu-jitsu academy established in the city. Owner and head instructor Antonio Velazquez is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Bryant Pangelinan. With more than fourteen years of experience in the discipline, he has spent over a decade teaching practitioners ranging from young children to older adults, following background training at Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu San Jose. The curriculum provides gi and no-gi jiu-jitsu classes along with specialized youth sessions for ages five through eleven. Students practice submissions, sweeps, takedowns, and positional control in structured classes, supplemented by open mat sessions for drilling and rolling at their own pace.
