Pirata Jiu Jitsu

Pirata Jiu Jitsu is based in Independence MO, serving athletes across the KC Metro area. The academy represents a longstanding training facility that returned to where it all started in 2006, Independence MO! Instruction includes dedicated options for adults and younger students under BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU. Foundational martial arts training is delivered in the Fundamentals class, while experienced practitioners can join the All Levels jiu jitsu class. Children are instructed through KIDS BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU, with training options spanning group and competition classes as well as private classes. The academy is guided by Devin Pirata, who serves as the owner and head instructor of Pirata Jiu Jitsu. Pirata brings over 17 years of training and teaching experience and is a 1st degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Jared Weiner and Kyle Watson representing the Tac Team Association. His competition record includes winning titles as the 2023 CXBJJ St. Louis, MO Super Fight Champion and 2022 Fuji World Pro Springfield, MO Super Fight Champion.
