Port City Brazilian Jiu Jitsu delivers martial arts education and submission grappling training at 280 Route 1 in Kittery, Maine. Located adjacent to the Orvis Outlet, the academy provides instruction across traditional gi and no-gi formats, offering a complimentary first training session to prospective students. The academy traces its direct lineage to Roberto Maia, a fifth-degree black belt. Head instructor Jay Mansfield, a fourth-degree black belt, began his training under Maia in 1999 and earned his black belt in 2008 at Gracie Barra Boston. Mansfield is a three-time Pan American medalist, two-time NAGA champion, two-time Copa Atlantica champion, and World championship medalist. The teaching staff also features third-degree black belt Jim Deluca, first-degree black belt Trevor Stone, and black belts Greg Burke, Chris Lapiana, and Zac Lawrence. Course offerings encompass Fundamentals, Advanced Gi, Submission Grappling No-Gi, Jiu Jitsu for Self Defense, Open Mat sessions, and Kids BJJ tailored for students ages 7 to 13.
