Rare Breed Mixed Martial Arts is located at 65 Washington Street in Bloomfield, New Jersey. The academy is led by founder and head coach Emilio Ramirez alongside owner Stephanie Lavi, a first-degree black belt in TaeKwonDo who directs the youth Ninjas program. The coaching team includes wrestling instructor Chris Sedlak, grappling coaches Roger Borshe and Michael Paterno, Muay Thai striking coach Gage Bazemore, and competition coach Adam Rodriguez. The gym offers diverse martial arts coursework for adults, teenagers, and children. Adult mixed martial arts classes integrate boxing and kickboxing strikes, wrestling takedowns, clinch frames, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu submissions and escapes. Separate striking sessions in Muay Thai focus on pad work, timing, and stand-up mechanics. Youth students develop coordination and discipline in the Ninjas program for ages three through six and kids classes for ages seven through thirteen. Additional schedule options include women-only classes and competition team preparation. Classes follow an organized training structure comprising warm-ups, technical demonstrations, partner drilling, situational sparring, and fight conditioning. Instructors cultivate an ego-free environment centered on athletic growth and practical self-defense. Prospective members can register online to take part in a complimentary free trial class.
