Redding Ju Jitsu Academy Inc

Redding Ju Jitsu Academy Inc is a traditional Japanese martial arts school located at 3092 Bechelli Ln in Redding, California. Originally founded in 1961 as Redding Judo Academy under Mike Bryne, the dojo relocated to its current facility in 1967 and was renamed in 1978 to reflect its Danzan Ryu heritage under the American Judo and Jujitsu Federation. The school was shaped across more than four decades by the late Professor Jane Carr, Judan tenth-degree black belt, and is carried forward by her daughter Professor Sheryl Hager, Hachidan eighth-degree black belt. Practical Arnis classes are taught by Master Scot Redden, a tenth-degree black belt, and third-degree black belt Jered Hallstrom. Instruction is organized into three student age divisions: Pee-Wee classes for children ages 3 to 6, Junior classes for ages 7 to 15, and adult classes for ages 16 and older. In addition to Danzan Ryu jujitsu and Modern Arnis stick and empty-hand defense, the academy practices Seifukujutsu restorative bodywork founded by Professor Henry S. Okazaki.
