Renzo Gracie Nashville Jiu Jitsu delivers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu education and combat sports training at 5105 Maryland Way, Suite 101, in Brentwood, Tennessee. The academy features a spacious mat area, private showers, and locker rooms, serving martial artists across Brentwood and the greater Nashville area. The school was founded by Head Professor Shawn Williams, an internationally recognized 5th-degree black belt under Renzo Gracie. Williams moved to New York City in 1996 to train under Gracie and became the fifth black belt promoted from the Renzo Gracie Academy on April 2, 2002. Widely recognized as the creator of the Williams Guard, Williams served as a coach for Team GSP on Season 12 of The Ultimate Fighter and works as an analyst for major grappling championships. Striking instruction is directed by Muay Thai Program Director P.J. McMahon, a former U.S. Army Combat Medic and 2012 World Kickboxing Association Amateur Champion. Coursework features gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for beginners through advanced practitioners, Muay Thai kickboxing, and youth martial arts programs.
