Ricardo Almeida Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy operates a dedicated training location in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. The academy was founded by UFC veteran and sixth-degree black belt Ricardo Almeida. Instruction emphasizes personal development, physical conditioning, and structured martial arts progression for all ages. Professor Almeida and experienced coaches teach classes structured so less experienced students pair with senior practitioners. The curriculum focuses on self-defense fundamentals, flexibility, and building confidence through step-by-step technical drills. Instructional staff work with recreational hobbyists as well as competitive athletes on the mats. Programs feature adult Brazilian jiu-jitsu classes alongside youth divisions including Kids for ages five to seven and Juniors for ages eight to fifteen. Specialized offerings include an anti-bullying program, character development lessons, and a homeschool martial arts program. Eligible families can also apply Florida scholarship funds toward academy tuition.
