Sarasota Jiu-Jitsu Academy LLC

Sarasota Jiu Jitsu Academy operates at 6300 Tower Ln #3 in Sarasota, Florida, near Lakewood Ranch. The academy provides martial arts training combining Gracie self-defense and American competition style jiu-jitsu. Mat instruction focuses on technical fundamentals, physical conditioning, and personal self-defense skills. Founder Professor Thomas Walker brings over forty years of martial arts experience to the academy. Walker began his training in 1984 with boxing before expanding into judo in the late 1990s and earning his BJJ black belt. He trained under multiple champion instructors, studying under the Gustavo Machado lineage tracing back to Renato Tavares. Training programs include advanced competition classes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10 AM and 6 PM. Evening all-levels classes take place on the same days at 7 PM.
